Serving Rock Springs, WY
I come to you or we can meet at a park!
I am a positive reinforcement trainer. I don’t believe in screaming,
hitting, choking, pinching, shock collars, hanging, or intimidating any dog. People
often ask me, “How do you train a dog without choke chains and prong collars.”
By teaching them to trust me. Dogs that learn through negative reinforcement
are not learning to obey because they want to but because they fear the consequences.
This is unhealthy and damaging to your relationship. A dog should never
cower to his human’s hand. I train dogs to listen because they want to
please me and will teach you how to do the same.
The number one reason dogs end up in a shelter or are
given away is due to lack of training. And I believe, the average age range for
owners giving up on their dogs is between 6-10 months old. Dog’s become
teenagers just like humans and this is a very hard life-stage but doesn’t mean you’ve failed as a dog owner. You just need some guidance. I know a
lot of owners who can “train” their dogs but don’t know how to teach good doggie manners. This is where I come in. I don’t just “train”
your dog to sit, down, stay, come. Yes those are important and can save your
dog’s life but what about barking, jumping, counter surfing, running away, digging and just all around bad manners? I believe that if dogs have the proper training, socialization, and vet care that
they need, less and less would end up in shelters and the bond between owner and dog would be strengthened. To view more about my training philosophy visit the About Me page.

Hound dogs are not known for Canine Good Citizenship because they are very strong-willed and independent. So it doesn't
matter if your dog's a pedigree or mutt, Golden Retriever or Basset Hound, I CAN train your dog to be a Canine
Good Citizen!

In
2013 AKC created the AKC Community Canine Title. “AKC Community Canine expands on CGC skills and lays the beginning
foundation for obedience, rally and therapy dog work,” Director of the Canine Good Citizen program Mary Burch, PhD,
said. “While Canine Good Citizen tests are simulations of real world skills, the goal of AKC Community Canine is to
test the dog’s abilities in a natural setting....”
