AKC & UKC Registered Puppies
All puppies come with: first round
vaccines, microchipped, vet checked 2 times, fecal exam- dewormed if necessary, AKC limited registration, 2 year health guarantee,
worked with the Bio Sensor/Super Dog Program, Blood Sugar Scent Discrimination started, potty training and basic obedience
started, a toy, some food to get you started, and a lifetime of support. Blood Sugar Scent Discrimination Started: We are prepping
the puppies to be able to detect Blood Sugar levels in people with Diabetes and Hypoglycemia. This
training starts at around 3 days of age because their sense of smell is so strong. Even if a puppy
doesn’t go to a working home this still prepares them to be wonderful, well-rounded dogs.
Origin: The Golden Retriever originated in the Scottish Highlands in the late 1800's and was used predominantly for hunting.
The breed was developed by Lord Tweedmouth, whose goal was to create a superb retriever suited to the Scottish climate, terrain
and available game. He crossed his original "Yellow Retriever" with the Tweed Water Spaniel (now extinct) found on his estate.
Later integrations of Irish Setter, Bloodhound, and more Tweed Water Spaniel produced the retriever we know today. Temperament: Friendly,
reliable, and trustworthy. Quarrelsomeness or hostility towards other dogs or people in normal situations, or an unwarranted
show of timidity or nervousness, is not in keeping with Golden Retriever character. Such actions should be penalized according
to their significance.
Height & Weight Height:
Dogs
23-24 inches Bitches 21 ½ -22 ½ inches Weight:
Dogs 65-75 pounds Bitches 55-65 pounds Exercise: Golden Retrievers are an active, energetic sporting
breed. Daily walks or free exercise are important to their physical and mental health, as well
as socialization with other people and animals. It is especially important not to force exercise Golden Retriever
puppies during their first two years. Bone growth plates
are still growing and might be injured during hard exercise.
Swims, daily walks on soft surfaces, and casual short hikes on
flat ground are great exercise for puppies. Avoid jogging, biking,
trotting behind a moving car or steep climbs and descents
with Golden Retrievers under the age of two. Grooming: Golden Retrievers do not require an
extraordinary amount of grooming. Weekly coat brushing is recommended, plus trimming hair between pads of the feet
and around the ears once a month. This lowers the risks of encountering a matted coat, hot spots, and infected ears. Cutting
back toenails monthly will prevent toenails so long that your dog rocks back on it's paws, possibly causing orthopedic problems
as it ages.
Life Expectancy: 11-15 years from good breeding
